Tears!!

Today I took poor little McCall to Primary Children's to see the eye doctor about her blocked tear duct. Her right eye has always been weepy and sometimes goopy with tears constantly running down her cheek. I've known it was blocked since she was born, but I kept hoping that it would clear up like Spencer's did. Well, after dragging my feet FOREVER, I'm finally admitting that she needs help. So next Thursday she will go back to Primary and have the surgery to open it up. Poor sweet baby. She is so perfectly good, that I hate to put her through that but I'm SO SICK of people stopping me to ask what's wrong with her, if she's sad or sick or whatever. Like it's any of their business anyway. I just want to ask them what's wrong with them--if they have a genetic problem that makes them so fat or if all their wrinkles are from too much sun. Maybe that would make them leave her alone. So we'll spend $5000, spend an entire day at the hospital, farm out 4 kids, let some guy bring her to the edge of death, and stress all day for a 15 minute surgery. Makes sense to me!? It's too bad her body isn't as perfect as her little spirit.

I've succumbed!!

So after much pressure from all of you other bloggers out there, I've finally succumbed to peer pressure. I'm not sure what I'm doing and wish I was a little more computer savvy, but we'll see how it goes. Dave says this could just be my journal, since I'm the LAMEST at writing in a journal. It was easy before I had so many kids and had the latest cool guy to write about. It seem now that any free time I have I want to spend with Dave or sleeping.

With President Hinckley passing away tonight, I have many thoughts and feelings. I LOVED both him and his wife. They were so quick witted and I loved listening to them. I am so happy for him to be reunited with his sweet wife and I'm also sad that he won't be our prophet anymore. At the same time, it's so weird to think that Dave's uncle will be the next prophet. He has become just "Tom" to me and Dave has always just known him as an uncle. The last time we saw Tom was on New Year's Eve when he came walking into Dave's parents house wearing a scottish cap with a red wig hanging out of it. Not exactly what you think of a prophet of God wearing. It just shows how we are all just people and enjoy having fun. Thinking how close the next prophet is to us makes me want to be a better person and try harder to be more patient with my kids, pray more and have kinder thoughts towards others. But, don't think you're going to see some magical transformation. After all, I AM human and therefore I will stumble along the way.
